Understanding the language of flowers can save you from some potential embarrassment. Although an orange lily is very attractive, it actually is said to say, "I hate you." A yellow carnation will say, "You disappoint me." As you can see, you need to be very careful when sending flowers.

This applies to roses as well. White and red roses together signify unity and a single red rose represents love at first sight and should not be given lightly.
